Filmmaker & Photographer Archie Short shares with us not only a love for exploring and capturing the outdoors - but also our birthplace. As an old friend from the Highlands, we caught up with Archie and asked him to share the following photo-set from a recent coastal trip to the States, touching down in NYC and finishing up in Idaho…
Our Trip began in Patras, Greece - the home town of a close friend and fellow photographer, Evangelos whose photographic contribution completed the following set. After some exploring in Patras, we got all our kit together and made a plan to hit the USA.
We touched down in NYC, greeted by a good friend we’d met at film school in Prague. He gave us new names and snuck us into a rooftop party with wine, food and some of the best colourists working in NY.
After a week of filming we flew down to New Orleans to meet Brian, who would be providing wheels and joining us for the rest of the journey all the way to Idaho.
Driving up the West coast we passed through L.A, Big Sur, Sequoia Forest, Yosemite and San Francisco.
After 5,600 miles we arrived at Brian’s cabin in Idaho. A huge forest fire had raged close by but luckily just missed the cabin. We relaxed with the smell of smoke & pine and watched hot spots crackling away in the dark.
You can check out more images from the trip, and more of Archie’s work on his website, Tumblr & Instagram.

Thanks guys!
